A classic that I has not had the pleasure to watch from beginning to end. Glad I did. I started to watch it with high expectations and those was accomplished. You already know that the cast is very good which leads to good performances. But what is noteworthy is the story, nothing like a good surprise to leave us speechless over a good story. I should not be recommending anything you have not seen but if someone did not see, just see it (NOW!).

Um clássico que ainda não tinha tido o prazer de ver do princípio ao fim. Ainda bem que o fiz. Comecei a ver com expectativa elevada e esta foi cumprida. O elenco já sabem que é muito bom o que leva a boas representações. Mas o que é de destacar é a história, nada como uma boa surpresa para nos deixar boquiabertos em relação a uma boa história. Não devo estar a recomendar nada que não tenham visto mas se alguém não viu veja (Agora!).

We can say that this movie is stagnant. This characteristic isn’t a defect because it matches the drama that is pretended to involve the life of the main character. I liked the talk between the characters because they say some funny things. I didn’t understand if the huge use of Jewish words is to make us think “What?!” (like happens with some characters) or if we should know what they mean (which I don’t believe because if it was like that the movie should be almost just for Jewish people). I recommend it, even if it’s just for the brothers Coen.

Pode-se dizer que este filme é parado. Esta característica não é um defeito porque acompanha o drama que se pretende criar à volta da vida da personagem principal. Gostei das falas pois existem muitas “bocas bem mandadas”. Não percebi se o uso de tantas palavras judaicas eram para ficarmos a pensar “O quê??!!” (como acontece com algumas personagens) ou se as devíamos saber (o que não acredito senão o filme era quase apenas para Judeus). Recomendo, nem que seja por ser dos irmãos Coen.

I saw this movie and it overcome my expectations in terms of special effects because I don’t like this type of “Hollywood things”. The story follow the usual Hollywood line of turn and turn around (but it’s not so bad) and the exaggerations are not so bad because the movie it’s all exaggerated. It’s a pity that I observed a scene where, in my opinion, has a fail and it’s when he is beat and still out of the healing bath and he’s pretty well to someone that was beat, for example, with a knuckle-duster in the ribs. I still can say that the movie has some funny scenes and one or other good joke. I recommend it to the people that like action movies.

Vi este filme e superou as minhas expectativas em termos de efeitos pois não gosto muito destas coisas “hollywoodescas”. A história mantém a linha do que eu estava à espera das voltas e mais voltas de Hollywood (não estando má de todo) e os exageros não ficam mal porque o filme é declaradamente exagerado. Foi pena ter reparado numa cena que para mim tinha uma falha que é quando ele é espancado e não tinha ido para a “banheira” da cura e estava razoavelmente bem tendo levado, inclusivamente, socos de soqueira nas costelas. Posso ainda dizer que tem umas cenas engraçadas e uma ou outra piada boa. Recomendo para quem gosta de filmes de acção.
